Kailyn is from Danville, IN. She attends the Xavier University, School of Nursing, Cincinnati. Kailyn graduates in the year of 2025 with a BSN in Nursing. She is actively involved as a Mentor for Smooth, a program to help minority freshman with their college life transition. Shortly after graduating, Kailyn plans to pursue becoming a Neo
Kailyn is from Danville, IN. She attends the Xavier University, School of Nursing, Cincinnati. Kailyn graduates in the year of 2025 with a BSN in Nursing. She is actively involved as a Mentor for Smooth, a program to help minority freshman with their college life transition. Shortly after graduating, Kailyn plans to pursue becoming a Neonatal Nurse, which has been a long time goal to care for newborns in need of specialized care. Kailyn’s research about the Nursing profession indicating that only 12% of neonatal nurses are black reinforced her desire to the call for Neonatal Nursing. Kailyn is proud of her accomplishments as a Nursing Student and strategically will reach out to the community in the future.
Dimond is a native of South Bend Indiana. She is enrolled in her first year at the University of Cincinnati in the Certified Nurse Midwifery Program. Dimond is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. During undergrad school, she served as a Resident Assistant, Nursing School Ambassador, Black Student Union member as well as a Member
Dimond is a native of South Bend Indiana. She is enrolled in her first year at the University of Cincinnati in the Certified Nurse Midwifery Program. Dimond is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. During undergrad school, she served as a Resident Assistant, Nursing School Ambassador, Black Student Union member as well as a Member of Diversity Equity and Achievement Program (DEAP). Dimond Gary’s past and present community activities includes serving the HIV community in New Orleans by impactful conversations changing lives through community service. She was also very active at the Riley Children’s Hospital reading books to children when the opportunity was presented. Dimond currently works at a Level 1 Trauma ER Center concentrating on Labor & Delivery. Her future Nursing plans and goals are to work as a Certified Nurse Midwife in a hospital setting serving low income patients with a focus on the African American community. Dimond is passionate about “caring for patients who look like me. I enjoy being able to advocate for my patients when they can’t. I take pride in providing excellent care and being that Registered Nurse they remember forever due to my excellent skills, compassion and understanding”.
Amber is a resident of Cincinnati, OH. Amber attends the Cincinnati State School/Bethesda Nursing Program and started her second year in August, 2023. She is the mother of an 8 year old daughter and 1 year old mini golden poodle, both which keep her very busy outside of her Nursing studies. Amber manages to work part time for Tri-Health a
Amber is a resident of Cincinnati, OH. Amber attends the Cincinnati State School/Bethesda Nursing Program and started her second year in August, 2023. She is the mother of an 8 year old daughter and 1 year old mini golden poodle, both which keep her very busy outside of her Nursing studies. Amber manages to work part time for Tri-Health as a Medical Assistant. Amber plans to work at a local hospital as a NICU nurse initially and has a long term goal to pursue becoming a Nurse Practitioner focusing on treatment for women of color who struggle with mental health. Amber Lee desires to be an inspiration to all women. She feels “it is never too late to seek a Nursing career, even if at one point you fail, fall short or think you can’t do it anymore. It is vital to pick yourself up and keep going. I am thankful for opportunities and knowing that I have a group of people behind me every step of the way. This makes it all worthwhile”.
Anandra resides in the city of Cincinnati, OH. She is known to family and close friends as Vanessa. In conjunction with her Nursing studies she is busy raising two beautiful daughters, ages four and ten years old. Anandra is enrolled in the Galen College of Nursing Cincinnati BSN Program. Her expected graduation date is March 2024. Past
Anandra resides in the city of Cincinnati, OH. She is known to family and close friends as Vanessa. In conjunction with her Nursing studies she is busy raising two beautiful daughters, ages four and ten years old. Anandra is enrolled in the Galen College of Nursing Cincinnati BSN Program. Her expected graduation date is March 2024. Past employment as an Operating Room Unit Assistant for The Christ Hospital and then later for the University Hospital Medical Center inspired Anandra to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a Nurse. In her spare time Anandra enjoys traveling and participating in the local Greater Cincinnati marathons. Anandra Miller goals, once receiving her BSN and practicing as a Register Nurse, is to help minority Nursing students become successful with completing Nursing School as well as to work in underserve communities. Anandra states “she is concern with the lack of trust minorities have towards the healthcare system. Healthcare literacy is an ongoing problem that creates a cycle which leads people of color to admission and readmissions to hospitalization. My plan is to be part of this solution in the community”.
